Before You Start: A 60-Second Checklist
- Check your internet speed. You want 15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K per screen. Run a quick test at speedtest.net on your phone while standing near the TV. That's roughly what your Firestick sees.
- Update Fire OS. Go to Settings › My Fire TV › About › Check for Updates. Old firmware causes half the mystery app crashes people blame on IPTV.

Step 1: Allow Apps from Unknown Sources
Go to Settings › My Fire TV › Developer Options and turn on Apps from Unknown Sources. On some models it's called "Install unknown apps." If so, turn it on for the Downloader app in the next step.
Step 2: Install the Downloader App
Back on the home screen, search for Downloader (the orange icon by AFTVnews) in the regular app store and install it. This free utility is the standard, safe way to install player apps. It's been in the store for years and millions of Fire TV owners use it.
Step 3: Download Your IPTV Player
Open Downloader and enter the download code or URL for your player. For Firestick we recommend XCIPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro. Both handle big channel lists smoothly on the Firestick's modest hardware.
Your provider's setup email includes the current download link. Use that instead of a random code from a forum. Outdated links are how people end up installing fake apps.
Step 4: Log In with Xtream Codes API
Open your new player and choose Login with Xtream Codes API. Enter your username, password and server URL exactly as they appear in your email.
Two small mistakes cause 90% of failed logins: a stray space at the end of a pasted field, and typing the letter O where a zero belongs. If typing with the remote is a pain, use the Fire TV mobile app as a keyboard. It lets you paste.
